Xentrall Shared Services is a groundbreaking public sector partnership between Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and Darlington Borough Council, with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council being the lead Employer. It was set up to deliver key back office transactional services.

The services currently being delivered by the partnership are ICT, Design and Print, Transactional HR and Finance. The partnership was set up to deliver savings but there has also been investment in the partnership providing additional capacity to support each Council in the transformation of their services. Xentrall also supplies services to other organisations, including Academy Schools

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Xentrall Finance Team is the processing or operational side of the finance function. As part of the Xentrall Finance Teams (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Banking & Income) you will work to ensure that all financial transactions with both customers and suppliers are accurate, timely and compliant with good practice and that the experience for customers and suppliers dealing with us is friendly and positive. Key duties will include assisting in the processing of supplier invoices, the preparation of sales order and credit note requests and with the identification and processing of income.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: All candidates are required to meet the essential requirements set out below. Please address in your application how you meet the following:
• Level 1 English and Maths qualifications - (GCSE Grade D / 3 or above or Functional Skills – Level 1)
• Experience Working as part of a team (this could be in a sporting, educational, work or social setting)
• IT Skills including ability to use Microsoft Office e.g. Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills
• Numerate and have the ability to copy/transfer information accurately.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines

APPRENTICESHIP QUALIFICATION: You will be given appropriate paid time off work, to attend College and work towards completion of a Finance Assistant Apprenticeship, during which you will obtain AAT Foundation certificate in accounting (level 2). PLEASE NOTE: You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in the same or similar subject.

APPRENTICESHIP BENEFITS: We offer an excellent benefits package for apprentices. You will be given a fixed term contract allowing you sufficient time to complete your apprenticeship qualification (see below), with the potential to secure a longer-term position to grow within the organisation. We will provide you with a dedicated Mentor to support you during your apprenticeship and you will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and additional learning and development opportunities.

APPRENTICESHIP DURATION: 15 MONTHS

SALARY
• Under 18 years old, £4.62per hour, £8,913per year
• 18 to 20 years old, £6.56per hour, £12,656per year
• 21 to 22 years old, £8.36per hour, £16,128per year
• 23 years and over, £8.91per hour, £17,189per year
