Further Information
This is Redcar and Cleveland. We are an ambitious council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

This post is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the council’s money and people, as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to provide a Chauffeuring and Attendant service to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

We are looking for an experienced competent driver who can provide a full range of driving and support services to the Mayor, Members and Senior Officials of the Council, in order to facilitate the smooth running of Mayoral engagements.

Applicants must have the ability to learn, understand and apply civic protocols and rules and to advise the Mayor accordingly, and to work in an attendant role and take and act upon instructions from the Mayor (Deputy Mayor) and Managers in a courteous and helpful manner.

A flexible approach to work is required by responding to the needs of the service including requirements to work beyond normal working hours, including evenings and weekends. The post is part-time, based on an average of 20 hours per week, on an annualised hours arrangement to accommodate the commitments in the civic diary.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.

For an informal discussion contact Jane Holmes, Civic and Governance Officer on 01642 444501.
