The Sport and Leisure Service are looking to recruit 2 x Health & Wellbeing Activators.

The post holders will be responsible for assisting in the co-ordination and delivery of child weight management programmes and Public Health initiatives across North Tyneside. You will have the confidence and skills to deliver engaging and interactive group education activities along with the sensitivity to have direct discussion with families in relation to weight and wellbeing.

You will have experience working with families, children, and young people alongside experience of delivering group activities. You will have excellent communication skills that will motivate and support participants through the process of change. You will have the confidence and skill to deliver engaging and interactive education sessions for families as well as supporting them.

You will have a strong understanding of Public Health England guidance and documentation relating to healthy weight in children and are able to use this knowledge and understanding to support families of North Tyneside.

You will have experience working towards a common goal with partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes. Experience of working as part of a team is also essential.

Strong organisation skills are essential, and you will have excellent IT skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Programmes.

You will have strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. Knowledge of health and safety standards is also essential.

A good general school education up to A level standard (or equivalent) is essential, including GCSE Maths and English grade C/ Grade 4(or equivalent). The post is full time, 37 hours per week and flexible working arrangements apply. Additional qualifications in nutrition and physical activity would also be desirable. The post holder will be expected to work evenings and weekends to support business needs.
