The Governors wish to appoint an outstanding Subject Leader of English to join the Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will lead the English Department (including Drama) in addition to taking on the strategic whole school responsibility to improve student literacy. The successful candidate will have the experience, ambition and skills to lead the department through its next stage of development, whilst also helping the school to deliver its long term strategic vision. This will be an excellent opportunity for an established and ambitious Leader of English.
The successful candidate will have:
• experience of successfully teaching English to all Key Stages demonstrated by results and progress data
• an absolute commitment to students and their learning above all else
• have a strong interest in developing pedagogy and a track record of improving the practice of colleagues
• outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• the ability to effectively lead and manage change
• strategic vision allied to the drive to deliver
