About the role:

Working as part of Groundwork’s Land and Communities Team, alongside Sunderland City Council’s Low Carbon Team, the post holder will support the Council and its partners in the delivery of the city-wide Sunderland Low Carbon Framework and the Council’s Low Carbon Action Plan.

The post holder will work closely with the Local Authority, Groundwork, key partners and community groups, enabling them to deliver their strategic carbon reduction objectives. You will support the development, delivery and evaluation of a diverse range of carbon reduction initiatives in a busy internal and external environment, ensuring deadlines are met whilst maintaining quality.

Experienced in community engagement, your skills will be used on key initiatives to stimulate low carbon awareness, improved health opportunities and local ownership.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

About you:

We are seeking someone with experience of developing and delivering environmental/sustainability projects as well as co-designing and facilitating project activities. You will have good knowledge of current environmental and sustainability issues and of global, national and local structures and sources of information. You will be exceptional driven with ability to motivate self and others and foster good working relationships both internally and externally.

Excellent communication skills are essential, including writing and presenting succinct summaries of complex data and information for diverse audiences and you will have an enthusiasm and commitment to further develop and share knowledge in the low carbon field
