An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join us to deliver our Rural Churches for Everyone Project (funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Inspiring Ideas Programme). Building on our unique heritage of church buildings, our aim is to explore new ways of helping rural places of worship become more resilient and able to adapt to their changing environment. Focusing on the future sustainability of church buildings in four rural benefices, this project will help us deliver a key strand of our growing church bringing hope change programme. For more information about the project, see www.newcastle.anglican.org/rcfe

Working with the project partnership and a team of specialists and local volunteers, you will co-ordinate the delivery of a range of project activities and provide advice and guidance on regeneration plans and heritage projects. Key is building local capacity and increasing the value of historic places of worship for local communities.

You should have significant experience of project management and community working ideally within a conservation or historic buildings environment. Building relationships with a diverse range of people combined with passion and enthusiasm for historic churches/buildings are important.

You should have empathy with the mission and ethos of the Church of England and be able to subscribe to the ethos and values of the Dioceses.
