Kenton School - all different all equal
Newcastle upon Tyne
Required September 2021
Kenton School is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school at the heart of the community in which we serve. With around 1800 students, we are amongst the largest schools in the North East. At Kenton we are passionate about providing the very best education possible for young people in our city, our region and nationally and our strong and committed team share our vision of ensuring all our students not only reach their potential but that they are confident, happy and resilient students who treat each other with compassion and respect.
We are seeking a passionate maths specialist to join a well-resourced department that has high expectations of what all our students can achieve. As part of an ongoing professional development programme, the school provides many opportunities for the maths team to discuss and develop pedagogy to ensure the best learning experience for our students. We have a thriving A-Level course and work with external partners to offer further opportunities beyond the classroom.
If you are the person we are looking for, your broad base of subject knowledge will be underpinned by a passion for the subject and the ability to apply a range of teaching and learning strategies. You will possess the ability to work effectively with all students, engaging them through exciting yet challenging lessons and embedding a culture of positive behaviour for learning. And, most importantly, you will be committed to our school ethos of ‘all different, all equal,’ instilling high expectations in all our students.
In return Kenton School offers fantastic opportunities to committed and enthusiastic teachers and offers tremendous developmental possibilities due to its success, size, facilities and a forward thinking management and staff working together to offer the best available chances for our students.
