Tyne Coast Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a School Counsellor. This post will provide a high-quality counselling service to our pupils across the schools in the Trust. Initially for a minimum of the first year the post will be based at Ridgeway Primary Academy. Tyne Coast Academy Trust is currently made up of five schools, three secondary schools and two primary schools. The vision of the Trust is to be an outstanding MAT, providing world class education and training.

This post will provide a high-quality counselling service in order to promote emotional health and wellbeing, resilience and achievement and will act as a champion for the mental health and wellbeing of pupils across the schools in the Trust.

You will hold a diploma in counselling or equivalent and possess good knowledge of the BACP Code of Ethics. In addition, you will have a proven ability to deliver effective therapeutic intervention and experience of counselling children and young people. An effective communicator with the ability to engage children and their parents/carers and to work with multi agency partners is essential.
