The Policing Vision 2025 states that, “By 2025 digital policing will make it easier and more consistent for the public to make digital contact, improve our use of digital intelligence and evidence and ensure we can transfer all material in a digital format to the criminal justice system.”

At Cleveland Police we are committed to providing the information technology needed to deliver the vision, from investigations, to supporting the public, and interacting with the Justice sector and other agency partners. A variety of digital channels will allow the public to communicate with us in new ways, to report crime and to carry out routine transactions.

To support this vision we are inviting applications for the post of Support Manager. You will ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective ICT service aligned to best practice frameworks required to enable Cleveland Police to carry out its operational duties and associated functions. We are looking for an individual who will ensure the continued development and delivery of the second line support service to the Force in accordance with Service Level Agreements, ICT Strategy and ICT work plans. Taking ownership and initiative, you will have a lead role in defining and continuously developing the 1st line response requirement in relationship with the Service Desk.

Applicants must be educated to HNC or degree level, or posses equivalent ICT experience. It is essential that the post holder has the ability to prioritise tasks and work to competing deadlines. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, with a problem solving approach to tasks, in order to deliver effective solutions and promote service improvement.

The increasing pace of change in our increasingly digital society means that the role of ICT in the success of Cleveland Police will only increase over time. Technology plays an increasingly important role in the delivery of services and information in this digital age. Society today has an expectation that service providers will have digital channels available that allow them to communicate quickly and efficiently, and in the manner users are accustomed to experiencing. Police Staff, Officers, the business community and the public increasingly have this same expectation when they engage with the Police.

Cleveland Police aims to ensure that police staff and officers have the resources and technology to properly investigate crime, equipped with new tools and techniques and bring offenders to justice. Digital platforms will allow officers and staff more autonomy in the decisions they make, and drive efficiency using new technology to eliminate unnecessary paperwork, reduce bureaucracy and make it easier to interact with one another.

Cleveland Police will become increasingly mobile, using technology to allow its people to access information quickly, whenever and wherever they need it. Technology will support and empower officers to make faster decisions, because, at the point of contact, they will be supported by more accurate and timely information.
Join us at this exciting time to be involved in our digital transformation journey and help define and support the technology critical to meet the demands of modern policing in a dynamic and forward-looking organisation.
