Further Information
New, exciting and challenging!

Reporting to our Chief Economist this new role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced regeneration / economic development professional to play a central delivery role in an organisation with ambitious projects to deliver.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is a ground-breaking organisation, allowing the transfer of new powers and money from the Government to the North of Tyne area. We are making an ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, with a clear priority to help the communities we serve to fulfil their true potential. https://www.northoftyne-ca.gov.uk/news/our-corporate-plan/.

You'll provide clear leadership and direction to ensure that regeneration projects reach agreed milestones. Your proven expertise will enable you to effectively manage the delivery of Housing, Economic Corridor, and infrastructure work programmes. Working with our Housing and Land Board, you will also understand the importance of our communities and economic inclusion.

You'll have the chance to play a lead in role in a number of key, high profile housing and infrastructure regeneration projects supporting post-pandemic recovery. This will include ensuring that our Brownfield Housing Programme is successful, and we’ll also be looking to you to unlock sector opportunities and seize the opportunity to align development to net zero carbon targets. You will lead by example, working smart with a laser focus on delivering at pace and maximising return by exploiting urban, rural, and coastal assets and working in tandem with business and industry.

If you would like to be part of a team that is critical to the growth of the region and you have a clear sense of how to translate the strategic aspirations of our Mayor and Cabinet into action on the ground, then we really want to hear from you.

At NTCA, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. NTCA is proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

If you’re looking for a flexible approach to work, we will be operating on a hybrid model, so we would be open to discussing this with you. However, if you are looking to relocate here, then that’s great too. By coming to work in the North of Tyne, you can enjoy a fulfilling job as well as a great quality of life, with some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and beaches on your doorstep. Our flexible approach allows employees to have a great work-life-balance, with your wellbeing at its heart.
