Hartlepool Youth Justice Service is a high performing service, seeking to appoint sessional support workers to assist in the delivery of Youth Justice Services. The duties will include the support of children and young people who have offended, or at risk of offending.
Ideally, you will have some practical criminal justice experience of working with children and young people, either in a social work, education or youth work setting. Alternatively, evidence of higher education within a criminal justice discipline, Social Work or Youth Work setting would be desirable. You will be required to represent the service and young people across a variety of settings and activities.
Access to transport for work purposes is essential, as is the ability to liaise and work co-operatively with other agencies/professionals. A significant proportion of the work is weekends and evenings, with some availability required during the core working week.
Previous or current knowledge of youth crime issues and/or national standards in the Youth Justice system is desirable.
