We are looking for a passionate leader to support delivery of the council’s memorial safety testing programme and grave digging operations within the 10 cemeteries in the City of Sunderland.

You will be responsible for the day to day organisation of grave preparation across 10 cemeteries and coordinating the work of the burial teams. In addition, you will be responsible for the development and administration of the Councils Memorial Safety Testing programme, assessing and testing all memorials according to a risk based programme which you will assist in the development of.

The post holder will also support the delivery of cemetery improvement plans and will supervise all works within each cemetery by Bereavement Services teams or contracted services.

The successful candidate will be self motived, organised and driven, with a methodical approach to delivery of services and attention to detail to lead the team in ensuring all services are compliant, safe and professional.
