Further Information
North Tyneside Council are looking to increase the number of internal beds within the residential placement service.

We support vulnerable children and young people in care and support a range of living arrangements including children’s homes, supported accommodation and foster care.

We work with families, carers and other professionals to provide care that achieves long term, positive outcomes for the children and young people we look after.

Successful applicants will be working directly with some of the most vulnerable young people in the borough, working as part of dedicated and experienced staff teams to provide direct care and support to children and young people living outside their family home.

We have high aspirations for our young people and we need a staff team who are committed, passionate, resilient, resourceful and energetic. Candidates must have experience and skills relevant to the role, and be able to work flexibly to support the work we do.

The service operates 24/7 and a variety of work is involved including, day, night, and weekend work, including sleep-ins, for which an allowance is paid.

Successful applicants will also be subject to an enhanced check with the disclosure and barring service (DBS).

Previous applicants need not apply.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
