Salary: £ 28,672 - £ 32,234- £ 33,782– £ 37,890 (pro rata for part-time)
i.e. pre-progression Grade 9/ post -progression Grade 11

AMHP status - £36,922 - £40,876 p.a. grade 12 payable

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and committed Social Workers to complete assessments within a service for people who experience mental health difficulties. Durham County Council are in part of a partnership arrangement with Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust to provide an integrated approach to supporting people with severe and enduring mental health problems and their carers.

We currently have a number of vacancies which will be attached to our Mental Health Access service. This team complete initial assessments, make decisions around eligible for social care and health services and complete short-term interventions where appropriate.

The successful applicants will join a multi-disciplinary team of workers who are committed to providing a flexible and effective service to people with mental health problems.

You must have up to date knowledge of current legislation and Policies/ Procedures in relation to Adult Health and Social Care.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification i.e. Degree, DipSW, CSS or CQSW or equivalent and either be a qualified AMHP or be willing to train as an Approved Mental Health Professional within specific timescales.

Applicants must hold or be applying for Social Work England registration.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
