Training Provider: It is envisaged that this training will be delivered in Newcastle but may be delivered virtually.

Resources and Digital Directorate operates at the very core of the Council's operations, working with services to direct financial resources to deliver the Council priorities.

Resources and Digital includes the Council's Internal Audit and Risk Service, providing Internal Audit Services to the Council and a number of external clients. The Service is also responsible for delivering the Council’s Corporate Risk and Corporate Fraud functions.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Internal Audit Apprentice to join the Service. As an Apprentice you will be a vital part of the team, contributing to the Service’s high performing professional delivery of internal audit, risk and corporate fraud functions whilst working in a dynamic and challenging environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain further skills while achieving a level 4 qualification within a professional organisation.

Applications are invited for this fixed term post to help support the Service. The job description is attached and consideration will be given to applicants meeting the criteria.

Required learning commitments: 20% off the job learning (equivalent to 1 day per week) 80% on the job learning. This can include:

taught sessions by the training provider
role play
coaching and mentoring
simulation exercises
online learning
work shadowing
self study and assignment completion
Knowledge and Skills to be covered include:

Risk and Control / Audit Methodology

System and IT Skills
Assessment: End Point Assessment after the training has been delivered – typically includes a portfolio, project and interview but this may vary.
