Northumberland County Council Sports Development Team are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to support in the delivery of the Ability to Play Disability inclusion programme which is based in south east Northumberland ( Blyth and Ashington area) We currently run a range of sessions for adults and juniors with a disability to help them engage in sport and leisure. The successful candidate will support the day to day operations of the programme from it's planning stage to delivery.
We are looking for someone with a level 1 or 2 sports coaching qualifiication with a passion to work with people with a range of disabilities. You must be well motivated, pro-active in your approach and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Full training & support is offered but experience of working within SEND and/or sport & leisure is advantageous.
We are offering a 15 hour per week fixed term contract (12 months) including, weekend and evening hours, however we can be flexible and offer the right person a casual contract. Additional hours will be available during school holidays with the opportunity to work on other community sessions that we deliver.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS and you must be able to travel independently to the venues.
