Working as part of the Gateway team, this post is responsible for assessment and decision making around provision of immediate practical support for vulnerable people facing a financial crisis. It involves accessing a number of databases to ascertain information, conducting needs assessments and risk assessments both verbally on the telephone and face to face, arranging immediate practical support for customers. It also involves being able to be clear with customers when they are not eligible for support. Record keeping is an integral part of the role.

Other duties surround supporting people with life limiting illness to maximise their income, assisting vulnerable people with supported housing and providing support to vulnerable people facing multiple need in conjunction with support and other professionals.

This post is permanent, 18.5 hours per week.
