North Tyneside Council is looking to appoint enthusiastic and flexible Assistants to carry out front-line duties in Libraries, Community Centres and Customer First Centres. These are customer-facing roles and you must be committed to providing excellent customer care to a wide range of customers.
- 4 x 37 hours per week (White Swan Customer First Centre, Wallsend Customer First Centre, Whitley Bay Customer First Centre)
- 5 x 17.38 hours per week x (Battle Hill Library, Forest Hall Library, John Willie Sams Centre, Wideopen Library)
- 1 x 15.5 hours per week (North Shields Customer First Centre)
- 5 x 4.25 hours per week (Saturdays only) (North Shields Customer First Centre, Wallsend Customer First Centre, Whitley Bay Customer First Centre, Battle Hill Library, Forest Hall Library)
Duties include reception and basic enquiry work, delivering activities to groups of children and adults, physical management of library stock, re-shelving returned items, setting up rooms for events / activities, a wide range of clerical routines and use of the Council and libraries computer system. You should possess good inter-personal and ICT skills and be able to lift and handle heavy items.
Some weekend and evening work will be required.
