North Tyneside Council is seeking an Apprentice Project Support Officer to join the Inclusive Economy and Business Growth Service Area in Regeneration and Economic Development.

You will be based within the Business and Enterprise Team although you’ll need to be flexible as you will be working across the wider service and with a range of stakeholders. You’ll have the opportunity to work on significant projects, all of which require high quality data and metrics. Providing support to the Programme Manager with both internal and external funding bids, working with stakeholders to gather and collate the required data and information and drafting complex and detailed business cases.

As an apprentice you will develop skills, knowledge, and experience supporting the wider team with programme and project management including project governance, stakeholder management, communication budgeting and cost control, scheduling, project planning, risk and issues management and contract management including claims processing and reporting.

You will also be required to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and other Service Areas to deliver important project management support services.

You will be supported with on-the-job training and more formal training sessions to gain knowledge and understanding to become a qualified project support officer with a recognised APM qualification.

This programme is at Level 4 and will be supported by North Tyneside Adult Learning Service.

Qualification requirements: 5 GCSE’s at Grade C/4 or above including English and Maths.

You will attend regular meetings with your work supervisor and participate in a mix of online and live interactive sessions with the training provider. As you develop in the role you will be required to manage your own time and to work frequently on your own.

This apprenticeship is fixed term for 24 months.
