North Tyneside Council Housing is seeking an ambitious, professional and enthusiastic individual to join our new Welfare and Tenancy Support Team. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and supportive team who are passionate about getting the best outcomes for our residents.

If you are the successful applicant for this exciting, vital role you will work directly with vulnerable residents across the borough. Addressing poor housing conditions and ensuring that those with underlying health issues and vulnerabilities live in homes which meet minimum safety standards and improve health and the quality of Housing in North Tyneside.

Excellent communication skills are essential for this post as you will be working closely with the Authority’s partners and external agencies. Furthermore, it is vital that you can demonstrate that you have excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to empathise and help others and can demonstrate competence to work on your own initiative.

It is essential for you to demonstrate that you have knowledge of current issues within public health programmes to ensure the housing environment supports the successful management of ongoing health conditions within North Tyneside.

At the present time we envisage the role will require remote working but will be based at our new state of the art offices in Killingworth when Covid 19 restrictions allow a return to office-based working.

This position is 37 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years.
