The “Help to Claim: Universal Support” project offers support to help service users make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives. During the pandemic the Help to Claim service has seen a significant increase in demand, moreover the government’s decision to provide a temporary uplift for universal credit claimants is due to end in the imminent future. This service has been paramount in supporting a number clients to gain an income during difficult economic times.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Best Practice Lead to work within the Durham and Tees Valley job centre district, alongside a network of Best Practice Leads across the country.
The successful post holder will work collaboratively with a wide range of partners to:
• Gather insight and evidence on how Help to Claim and Universal Credit is working
• Conduct and complete research projects
• Support Regional Citizens Advice’s with local and regional relationships
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a motivated “can do” attitude with the ability form meaningful working relationships with a wide ranging stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the role and candidates should be able to analyse complex information and make decisions and/or formulate recommendations quickly, whilst communicating information clearly and accessibly.
Key details for the role are:
Job Title: Best Practice Lead
Hours: 30 hours per week
Duration: Fixed term – March 2022
Location: Citizens Advice County Durham, Spennymoor however frequent travel is required.
Please note that everyone in the organisation is currently working from home due to COVID-19. Interviews and induction will be done online and until we return to office working the post holders will be required to work from home.
