Vacancies exist within Sunderland City Council’s school meals service for Assistant Catering Supervisors. Applicants will need previous experience of working as a Cook / Chef / Assistant Chef within the food industry and have a cooking qualification (minimum 7061/ NVQ 2 or equivalent).

This is a hands on role involving cooking large quantities of food to a good standard as well as general catering duties such as serving customers (children and school staff) , cleaning, paperwork, etc. Good customer care skills are required and a friendly manner. In the capacity of Assistant Catering Supervisor you will assist the Catering Supervisor in the school. You will be required, where necessary, to deputise for the Catering Supervisor and on such occasions you will receive an upgrade (£11.50 / hour with potentially more hours) to reflect this

The posts are term time only and are a minimum 20 hour / week contract. The position will at times involve deputising for the Catering Supervisor in their absence (enhanced rate of pay applies on such occasions).

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
