Resources and Digital Directorate operates at the very core of the Council's operations, working with services to direct financial resources to deliver the Council priorities.
Resources and Digital Directorate are looking for highly motivated trainee accountants to join the Group, to provide efficient and effective financial support to the service’s internal and external customers. Successful completion of training will result in eligibility to apply for membership of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and salary progression.
Candidates must be committed to studying towards the CIPFA professional qualification and becoming an active member of our busy and dynamic team.
We are looking for people who are willing to contribute to a strong team environment with drive and commitment to succeed.
The selection process is likely to include the following:
• presentation on a given subject
• a panel interview
To be considered you must demonstrate a knowledge of a financial environment and have experience of;
• IT and computerised systems such as excel and word
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and organise own workload
• Ability to manage heavy workloads within tight deadlines
• Ability to liaise with a wide variety of internal and external clients
• Have a degree, Association of Accounting Technician qualification (level 4) or equivalent.
