We are offering an exciting opportunity to join and help lead a new multi-disciplined team of housing professionals. As part of Property, Assets and Traded Services you will join Asset Management and lead a team that covers Homeownership, property condition and investment planning & delivery for Gateshead’s social housing stock.
As an experienced housing, or built environment practitioner, you will work collaboratively with other senior leaders across the organisation. You will need experience of managing budgets and delivering robust asset management services that are underpinned by clear strategic objectives and informed decision making.
You will be the lead for the delivery of asset management services including stock condition surveying and the capital programme for stock investment. You will bring to the role experience of leading on the delivery of large-scale projects and an understanding of complex options appraisals. You should be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of current housing issues around asset management and building safety and be able to draw upon sector best practice.
Experience of dealing effectively with a wide range of stakeholders will be essential in this roll. You will be working closely with internal and external customers to develop and implement new strategies, standards and stock appraisals that will shape the future direction of property related services. A sound understanding and confidence in using IT packages is essential and you should be able to prepare, present and take questions on complex datasets and reports.
You should be educated to degree level in construction, the built environment or housing. Or have experience in a similar role in asset management and have 5 GCSE’s at a grade 4 or at grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
