Youth Engagement Officer (35 hours)

The Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Youth Worker to fulfil the exciting role of Youth Engagement Officer.

Through our pioneering facility, the Beacon of Light, it is the Foundation’s ambition to continue to deliver and develop high quality Youth Engagement across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

Purpose of the Role: The Youth Engagement Officer is responsible for the planning and delivery of a series of diversionary activities/youth engagements, targeting hard to reach young people who have been involved in anti-social behaviour or at risk of becoming involved in crime/victims of criminal exploitation. It is essential the applicant has a minimum of the Level 2 Youth Work qualification and a clean driving license.

The delivery of one-to-one and group mentoring will be the priority of the role, with both in-school and out-of-school mentoring. The position also involves the delivery of group lessons to families of the young person referred from key partners such as Northumbria Police or Together for Children.

The base for the post is the Beacon of Light, with delivery across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.
