Northern Education Trust is a DFE approved charity that sponsors academies to ensure that students achieve their full potential. The Trust sponsors 21 academies; 11 secondary and 10primaries across the North of England in eleven Local Authority regions. There may be some requirement to travel to academies across the Trust.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to work as part of a team of Finance Assistants led by the Senior Finance Officer within the northern finance hub of Northern Education Trust.

The ideal candidate will have good organisational and ICT skills including the ability to multitask and work as part of a team in order to support the corporate finance function.

The role will directly report to and support the Senior Finance Officer (SFO) in all matters relating to accounts payable, including raising purchase orders, receiving invoices, validate and process invoices accordingly in line with Trust policy and the Scheme of Delegation, to assist SFO produce and submit payment reports, raise cheque or BACS payments, to reconcile supplier accounts and statements. The role will also involve performing tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the debtor account (accounts receivable) including raising invoices, debt collection and cash recording.
