An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Financial Planning and Support Team for a confident and motivated individual who wishes to further their career in Accountancy.
If you have excellent written and communications skills, with a good knowledge of Local Government accounting, experience in using financial systems, together with IT skills, and are customer focused, then we would love to hear from you.
The role of the Accounting Officer will primarily be to support the Finance Business Partners in the preparation of revenue and capital budgets, budget monitoring, year-end accounts for the Council, completion of statutory Government returns, monitoring and accounting for grants, and to provide financial advice and support to service budget holders.
The successful candidate will initially be placed within the team that has the responsibility for the financial functions associated with the Regeneration and Culture Directorate.
The Council has recently been awarded Government funding in excess of £43m for the transformation and regeneration of the town.
As part of the financial team, supporting this Directorate you will contribute to the successful delivery of a range of projects designed to enhance the town through various initiatives.
All posts within the Service are flexible dependent on business requirements, and therefore the post holder could potentially provide services to other Directorates within the Council.
