Post title: Swimming Instructor – part time (32.5 hours per week) term time plus 5 CPD days. This post is temporary until 21/07/2022

Salary: £20,092 - £22,183 Grade 5 (pro-rata to hours worked)

Job Location: Required to work at any council workplace within County Durham as directed by the Schools Swimming Aquatics Development Manager.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Level 2 Swimming Teacher to be part of a dynamic team, delivering high quality Primary School Swimming Curriculum lessons as part of the Education Durham School Swimming Team.

The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the continued development of our School Swimming program. You will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive Primary School Swimming Curriculum to a wide variety of ability and mix ability groups in various County Durham swimming pools.

You must have the ability to be engaging and motivational, work independently and as part of a team, have a good knowledge of the outcomes of the National Curriculum for School Swimming and Water Safety, fundamentals, core aquatic skills and stroke progression, along with a desire and passion to raise standards in pupil progress and achievement using an active learning approach, which meets the needs of all pupils.

Required Qualifications: Level 2 Swimming Teachers Certificate and possess a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and or National Rescue Test for Swimming Teachers and Coaches Certificate.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held remotely week commencing 04/10/2021.
