The Highway Network Management Section is responsible for the management and improvement of the highway network to encourage the efficient use of our roads and support economic growth.

You will be involved in minor traffic management schemes, the design and implementation of traffic orders and enforcement of traffic and highway regulations and drainage aspects including site surveys.

You should be IT literate (capable of using Microsoft Office applications including Word/Excel etc) and Autocad* and have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences both verbally and in writing. *Please note Autocad is not required if applying for Band 1 as training will be provided.

The ability to work accurately and with attention to detail is essential for this post, along with the ability to organise your own work with minimum supervision.

Ideally you would have some experience of civil engineering or a related industry but we would also be interested in hearing from candidates who want to start a career in civil engineering and demonstrate the right attitude and commitment to be successful.
