Required for January 2022

The Management Committee is seeking an exceptional educator and leader as the next Head Teacher for the Beacon Centre Alternative Education Centre in South Tyneside.

The Beacon Centre operates as a split-site, with primary provision located adjacent to a local primary school on Hatfield Square in South Shields and the secondary provision co-located in purpose-built premises on Temple Park Road, South Shields. The new Head Teacher will maintain and extend links with all our partners and beyond the school boundaries while leading and developing our recently restructured, enthusiastic staff team.

This is an exciting and significant opportunity for applicants to work with a committed staff team to lead our school on its continued improvement journey. You will ensure the highest quality of education, range of opportunities and standard of attainment for all pupils and will drive a safe and inclusive environment.

You will lead and further develop the Service as part of a behaviour support provision that delivers effective intervention and support in collaboration with school partnerships and other professionals.

Interested candidates are invited to visit the Centre. Please contact Ms Kelly Hudson to arrange visits on (0191) 4546254 or via email: kelly.hudson@thebeaconcentre.net

South Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
