Over the past 18 months Gateshead Council has prioritised its COVID-19 response efforts in order to protect our residents during the pandemic, and many of our leisure services staff continue to play a vital role in this.
As we ease out of lockdown, we have started a phased reopening of our leisure facilities and we are now looking to appoint to the following vacancies on a temporary basis to cover the post holders who are still redeployed elsewhere to support the continuing COVID-19 response:
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an excellent customer experience to leisure customers by carrying out duties such as providing proactive advice and instruction to gym customers, carrying out equipment checks and maintaining the presentation of the leisure facility.
It is essential that you have knowledge of the leisure industry and customer needs /expectations within a gym environment. Effective communication skills and customer service skills are also essential. You must be qualified to Level 2 Gym Instructor and have experience of setting personal goals to meet customer needs.
