Rehabilitation Worker or Social Worker for people with dual sensory loss required.
Based within an area office within the Sensory Support Team this post offers an opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to help further develop, with partner agencies, enabling and developing specific services for people with dual sensory loss and to promote independence.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to be part of this County Wide team. You will need to understand the issues regarding this specialist area of work and have experience, and a proven competency, of working with people who have dual sensory loss.
You should have experience of working with people who have a dual sensory loss and have excellent communication skills.
The postholder will receive specialist supervision and training support and will work with other staff to carry out assessments and to develop, and deliver, quality services.
You will also have access to the expertise of a wide range of other personnel within the service and may be required to oversee the work of ancillary staff carrying out work on your behalf. We offer opportunity for Social Workers to attain advanced practitioner status.
Required qualifications: Applicants must either hold :
Degree or FdSc in Rehabilitation of People with Sight Loss or equivalent qualification
Or
Degree in SW, Dip SW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent qualification - ( with Social Work England Registration)
Excellent signing skills at Level 2 with a willingness to progress.
