Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council prides itself on being a great place to work where staff are trusted, valued and supported to make a positive contribution at work.

The Economic Development Team carry out a range of functions including Business Engagement and Support, Enterprise creation and employability and skills.

The team has recently embarked on a shift in focus by taking a more pro-active role in inward investment and business growth across the Borough including working alongside other teams to explore and undertake direct interventions and developing plans for a more inclusive economy.

The project that best demonstrates the team’s commitment to inclusive growth is the development of an Employment and Training Hub, which caters for people from 16 years and over and aims to engage and support them into employment, up-skilling/re-training and other additional support services, also offering support to businesses for all their recruitment and workforce planning needs.

The team has a significant role to play in providing business intelligence so that interventions, direct or otherwise, are evidence led.

This an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Economic Intelligence Officer to join the Economic Development Team a Borough that is at the heart of the Tees Valley economy.

We are looking for someone dynamic with experience of working in an economic development or regeneration setting to capture, interrogate and analyse data, and is adept at translating evidence for a wide range of audiences and uses.

The post will work closely with teams across the Inclusive Growth, Planning & Development Service to identify intelligence requirements, maintain and develop an evidence base relating to the Borough’s economy, support the development of innovative solutions to data presentation and source external intelligence and translate this to inform the Council’s strategic approach to Inclusive Growth, economic development, service improvement and broader Council decision making.

Please ensure you refer to the Job Description and the essential and desirable criteria in the Person Specification when completing the Personal Statement on the application form, as this information is used to select candidates for interview.

We offer an excellent total reward package including a competitive salary, generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
