We are looking to recruit a Best Interest Assessor to work into the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding Team.

You must be able to work independently and meet performance targets.

Have experience and knowledge of working with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process and have worked as a Best Interest Assessor.

You will work under the direction of the Team Manager to provide an effective Adult Social Care service for the delivery of high quality and proportionate assessment, person-centred care. This will be in the context of assessed need, relevant legislation, government policy, and Council policies and procedures.

To practice in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework - Professionalism; Values & Ethics; Diversity; Rights, Justice & Economic Wellbeing; Critical Reflection & Analysis; Intervention & Skills; Contexts & Organisations; Professional Leadership.

You must be dynamic, committed to providing excellent services and bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenges of working within the DoLS Team. You must be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the residents of North Tyneside

You should hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with the Social Work England as well as Best Interest Assessors qualification.

This post is fixed term for 12 months.
