The Adults & Communities Directorate, consists of four strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, Public Health and Environment. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life, and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

We are seeking an experienced Visitor Destination specialist to develop and support tourism in the borough and delivery of the Council’s Destination Management Plan, policies, and promotional campaigns aimed at increasing the number of visitors to the Borough and their economic value.

We are looking for someone that has experience in successful marketing and promotion of a tourism service or similar, experience of managing staff and operating at a strategic level in a visitor-related environment and monitoring cost centre budgets. The successful candidate will have experience working with a range of national and local partners, building relationship to generate ideas and support growth.

The post is a fixed term contract for 1 year.
