Pool Lifeguards – Two Posts
Flexible Hours and Casual

Band 4 - £10.41 to £11.27 per hour (plus holiday pay), pro rata of £20,092 to £21,748
plus premium rate payment for hours worked at weekends or after 8pm

Astley Community High School is unique among Northumberland schools in having its own 20 metre swimming pool that helps swimmers of all ages to develop water confidence and swimming skills on our 12 week swimming programmes.

Working alongside our experienced swimming teacher, we are seeking to add to our bank of Pool Lifeguards, to provide casual cover during sessions and sometimes at short notice for other Lifeguards. The sessions are from 4.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday plus occasional work during school holidays.

RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential. Reliable and punctual, ideally with a degree of flexibility to work as and when required, you will be able to deal calmly with a range of situations and understand the importance of working to Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans. You will also be expected to attend our monthly pool lifeguard training on Monday evenings to keep your skills up-to-date.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.

Interested in applying? A completed application form and criminal records declaration form must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 17th September by e-mail to vacancies@svf.org.uk
