An opportunity has arisen within Sunderland City Council for the role of Maintenance Operative (Painter) for the Building Services Section.

The role will involve working in domestic and commercial buildings carrying out repairs and maintenance services to Local Authorities buildings and council housing stock.

Working alongside colleagues within the Building Services Team you will ensure that work is delivered to a high standard and meet our quality and performance expectations.

The post holder will be working as part of our repairs and maintenance department carrying out a variety of tasks to support business needs whilst also being able to deliver a core trade discipline of painting and decoration including paper hanging, ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard, providing an excellent customer service and ensuring all work is delivered on time and within budget.

Moving forward our focus is on improving, developing and growing the service to ensure we are providing a sustainable service to all customers. This role plays a key part in driving this ambition forward.

To succeed in this role applicants must have relevant trade qualifications and experience in painting and decorating, experience of working within a busy operational repairs and maintenance department would be an advantage.

A full driving license will be required to carry out this role and a works vehicle will be allocated to all successful candidates upon appointment.
