An opportunity has arisen within Sunderland City Council for the role of Maintenance Operative Technical (Gas Fitter/Heating Engineer/Plumber) for the Building Services Section.
The role will involve working in domestic, industrial and commercial buildings carrying out a range of technical trade activities to deliver installation, repairs and maintenance functions.
Working alongside colleagues within the Building Services Team you will ensure that work is delivered to a high standard and meet our quality and performance expectations.
The post holder will be working as part of our repairs and maintenance department carrying out a variety of tasks to support business needs whilst being able to undertake mechanical work as part of a maintenance team, ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard, providing an excellent customer service and ensuring all work is delivered on time and within budget.
Moving forward our focus is on improving, developing and growing the service to ensure we are providing a sustainable service to all customers. This role plays a key part in driving this ambition forward.
To succeed in this role applicants must have a relevant commercial and/or domestic Gas qualifications and experience of working within a busy operational repairs and maintenance department. Commercial ACS qualifications is desired and experience of commercial catering an advantage.
A full driving license will be required to carry out this role and a works vehicle will be allocated to all successful candidates upon appointment.
