We are looking to recruit a full time Community Occupational Therapist to our busy Occupational Therapy Team within the Single Point of Access - Front Door of Adult Social Care.
You will undertake specialist assessments of the needs of disabled people; primarily Adults and older persons with severe disabilities, challenging behaviour and life limiting conditions, and their carers, in line with the Care Act 2014 with the aim of improving and maintaining their level of independence in the community by providing Occupational Therapy interventions, including advice, equipment and adaptations delivery.
You will have knowledge and understanding of relevant Adult Social Care, and Housing Legislation, associated with the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations and the effects of disability on adults, older people and their carers. You will have experience of working in a health or social care setting, working with both children and adults and have a good understanding of the complexity of rehabilitation and enablement. You will have good assessment and problem-solving skills as well as good communication and IT skills.
You will have a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent, be registered with HCPC and BAOT and have a current UK driving licence and access to car or means of mobility support.
You will receive clinical supervision as part of your role.
