Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of six academies and one sixth form across the Tees Valley area serving a population of approximately 650 students aged 5 to 19 with a broad range of learning difficulties.
Abbey Hill Academy & Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form is “where amazing children do amazing things!” We specialise in meeting the needs of students aged 11 to 19 who have a full range of learning disabilities. The academy provides for approximately 317 young people aged 11 to 19 years who have learning difficulties, as well as other special needs including physical needs or autism.
Due to a planned increase in places at Abbey Hill Academy and Sixth Form, we are creating three new classes and therefore looking to recruit amazing Teaching Assistants to join our provision.
We are seeking to appoint experienced, outstanding, creative and enthusiastic teaching assistants who have the flexibility to work with young people who have a variety of special educational needs. The role involves supporting students in the classroom giving attention to their physical as well as educational requirements. One of the posts will be within our Fairfax Provision, a 16 place provision for students with ASD and moderate learning difficulties in Middlesbrough based in the grounds of Hollis Academy.
