Angel Court Extra Care Scheme

We are looking for someone with a passion and commitment to support older people to maintain their independence and remain in their home.

You will have experience in assisting customers in a wide range of situations with a strong commitment to excellent customer care. You will be an effective communicator with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Day to day you will be involved in the writing and monitoring of individual support plans, welfare checks, dealing with housing queries and responding to emergencies on site so it is important to have effective organisational skills.

To be successful in the role you will need to be calm and have a high level of resilience to be able to deal with difficult situations.

You will have a good working knowledge of ICT systems and be able to use Microsoft Office based software packages to record your work. You will also be able to prioritise your workload, meet targets and deadlines.

As you will be working directly with vulnerable people you must have an awareness of Safeguarding and Health and Safety regulations.

Previous experience of working in older people services or supported living is desirable. It would also be beneficial if have experience of responding to emergency situations.

There is no responsibility to deliver personal care as part of the role, however you will be required to provide some light cleaning duties in communal areas.

You will liaise with the businesses and domiciliary care staff that operate within the building so you will be able to work in partnership. You will conduct viewings and sign-ups with new tenants and help to facilitate activities and events in the communal lounge.

You will have 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English) or relevant experience. The role will involve working with ICT therefore computer skills are essential.
