Due to the promotion of our existing Deputy Headteacher, applications are invited from practicing and committed Catholic teachers for the post of Deputy Headteacher at St Bede’s Catholic Primary School. We are looking for an inspirational and passionate Deputy Headteacher who has the vision, ambition and motivation to work closely with the Headteacher in leading our highly successful school into the future.

At St Bede’s, we are focussed on living out our mission, ‘Developing mind, body, spirit and community. Living life to the full.’ We strive to give all children the opportunity to develop their intellectual, physical, social and spiritual attributes to ensure they receive a broad education and achieve their best.

Since 2019, we have been part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of 5 secondary schools and 26 primary schools from across Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland, in the west of the Diocese. The Trust will expand to 37 schools by the end of 2021 and reach a total of 48 schools by 2022.

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:

is a practising Catholic with a strong personal faith, committed to enhancing the Catholic life of the school;
will support the Headteacher in leading, inspiring, empowering and motivating all members of the school community to ensure everyone is able to ‘let their light shine’ (Matthew 5:16);
is an excellent practitioner with high expectations, and is committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential; and
is a leader who will inspire staff and children.
Our school is warm and welcoming to all who join us. We can offer you:

a strong commitment towards your professional and leadership development;
a caring, friendly and happy school with well-behaved, confident and high-achieving pupils who are proud of their school and feel safe in their school environment;
dedicated and caring staff, who are enthusiastic and deliver a vibrant curriculum;
happy, enthusiastic children who are eager to learn;
supportive parents/carers and governors; and
strong partnerships with the Parish, our families, the local community and Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust.
