Sunderland City Council has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Services Manager to support the provision of effective management of Local Environmental Services, which includes the maintenance of grounds, parks and open spaces and street cleansing.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build effective relationships with our partners and communities and work across the City with vision and attention to detail. They will also be able to demonstrate the ability to continually develop and review service delivery plans and the allocation of resources to deliver key objectives with a commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement and value for money, including the development and use of technology in frontline services.
The post holder will be responsible for the health and safety of employees and others, implementing safe systems of work, and continuously reviewing, identifying and managing associated risks.
The Environmental Services Manager role is demanding and will require working outside of normal working hours.
The post holder will be part of a busy and vibrant team dealing with both internal and external customers. You will be required to have excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal and have excellent literacy, numeracy and customer service skills.
Applicants should be qualified to degree level or equivalent or have relevant qualifications or extensive experience of working in environmental services.
