Further Information
An exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of a successful bid for Changing Futures funding across the Northumbria region.

Changing Futures is a three-year, £64 million programme that seeks to test new ways of bringing together the public sector and community sector to address cross-cutting issues and to drive the modernisation of public services for people experiencing multiple disadvantage.

Changing Futures Northumbria is a collaboration across the six local authorities of Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland that aims to improve the life situation of adults who face multiple disadvantage, transform local services, and reinvent the way the system operates. We will do this by basing everything around each person’s own understanding of ‘What matters to me?’ and going wherever the work takes us. Within this, we will run caseworker teams in four ‘touchpoint’ locations:

• commissioned substance misuse services (Northumberland)
• homelessness services (Gateshead)
• alcohol in-reach in hospitals (Sunderland/South Tyneside)
• domestic abuse support (Northumbria, North Tyneside, Newcastle)

The Gateshead touchpoint team has been designed to support homeless individuals experiencing multiple disadvantage. This team will build on the established partnership work underway in Gateshead and operate out of Basis@Gateshead hosted by Oasis Community Housing.

As Changing Futures Programme Coordinator (Gateshead) you will lead the delivery of this key part of the programme in the Region. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team that will provide a flexible and tailored support offer and local expertise that partners can draw upon on in order to meet the programme delivery principles and plans.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have relevant experience of leading frontline delivery models for adults experiencing multiple disadvantage and delivering effective working relationships across agency boundaries. You will also have proven experience of managing and coaching employees and partners and supporting them through different ways of working.

Key to your role will be the ability to drive change to local systems and services in order that we see improved outcomes for vulnerable people facing multiple disadvantage in Gateshead and you will play an important role in ensuring learning and positive practice is shared locally, regionally and nationally.

Your experience should include: • Facilitating multi-agency collaboration, to improve outcomes • Managing and implementing change projects. • Managing and monitoring budgets.

You will have knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office and the GDPR principles in relation to data protection and information sharing.

You must have A levels (or equivalent) and a project management qualification or relevant experience.

Experience of working with government and involving people with lived experience in achieving service/ systems change would be advantageous but not essential.
