We are looking to recruit a permanent Site Manager to work within the Electrical Compliance Section within Gateshead Construction Services to ensure that the Council is compliant with current legislation and safety standards.

Day to day you will manage the site delivery of a high quality, customer influenced investment works, commercial and domestic electrical installs and remedial works, cyclical works, and occasionally some repairs and maintenance.
You will ensure that works are delivered on time, to specification and within budget.

You must have knowledge of construction, health and safety, legislation relating to site safety and electrical testing.

It is essential you have completed a NVQ Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship and hold a City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent) and IET BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification. You must hold an ECS card appropriate to the level of position and responsibility and be prepared to become a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor. You must also have a full driving licence or be able to meet the transport requirements of the role.

You will have experience of supervising employees and subcontractor on site and a good understanding of Capital Works contracts and Domestic Testing and Remedial works. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and IT skills, as well as having relevant on-site experience.

The proposed hours of the post are 37 hours per week across 5 days Monday to Friday.
