To start Summer Term 2022

Are you an outstanding member of the teaching profession seeking a new opportunity to build on great success in a local primary school?

If you are that person, we would love to hear from you.

Hedworth Lane Primary is a school with strong community values and we have served the people of our locality since 1913. In a secure and stimulating learning environment, high standards and expectations are set by teachers and children alike, thus enabling every child to reach their potential.

Our innovative and motivated staff bring a diversity of experience to the delivery of a curriculum in which basic and advanced skills are developed in purposeful, enterprising contexts. We provide a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which inspires, motivates and challenges each child.

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our much respected and successful Head Teacher, the Governing Board is looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced school leader to take up the role of Head Teacher. This person will help us to build on the ‘Good’ outcome of our October 2018 Ofsted inspection on our journey to ‘Outstanding’.

The successful applicant will:

• Have a strong commitment to sustaining and developing school improvement
• Be committed to the safeguarding and well-being of children
• Be passionate about raising standards and committed to developing and implementing a rich, diverse, flexible curriculum to meet the personalised learning needs of every child, including SEN and Disadvantaged pupils
• Maintain a focus on excellence in the quality of teaching and learning through an enriched and extended curriculum
• Have proven leadership and management skills
• Be approachable, receptive and able to challenge, motivate and inspire others
• Demonstrate the highest expectations of achievement and behaviour

Visits to our school are welcomed. Please contact the school via email at office@hedworthlane.s-tyneside.sch.uk or by phone on (0191) 536 7262 to arrange a visit.

The Governing Board and South Tyneside Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
