In South Tyneside our Children’s Standards Unit is based within the Learning and Early Help Service working closely with our Children and Families Social Care Service and comprises our team of Independent Reviewing Officers and the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) function. The team is committed to highest standards of practice putting children and young people at the heart of this.
The post of Service Manager is vacant and we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional in this field to lead and drive this successful and effective service forward.
The successful candidate will need to hold a social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England and have significant management experience within Independent Reviewing work and the work of the LADO. Experience of managing complex dynamics, conflict and challenge alongside the ability to lead, motivate and further develop a strengths based approach in the work with families is essential. Developing effective relationships with children, young people, their families and multi-agency partners to achieve sustainable outcomes is also an essential feature of the role.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to lead our services ensuring that children are kept safe, that there is sound and timely decision making on their behalf and to support social work practice at the highest standard.
