We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Business Rates Officer to work within our successful Business Rates Team. We are a busy enthusiastic friendly team who are looking for a new team member. We are based at Bayheath House, Stockton, dealing with the administration and collection of business rates.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible to the Business Rates Team Leader. Ideally you will be someone who is enthusiastic, conscientious and hard-working, with excellent organisational and IT skills. This is an interesting and varied role and responsibilities will include determining business rates liability, updating and monitoring business rates accounts, determining collection methods and liaising with customers in
writing and by telephone.

You must be a team player who can work accurately whilst focusing on priorities and achieving targets. Strong customer service and communication skills are also required, with the ability to deal with matters effectively in challenging and sensitive situations.

This post is temporary until 31 March 2022.

This post has been identified as suitable for flexible working which enables the postholder to work 40% of their working time away from the office as appropriate to business need.
