We currently have a vacancy for two Teacher of English to join our successful, high-performing English Department, to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for a new entrant to the profession or an experienced colleague looking to broaden their experience.
The English Department promotes an engaging style of teaching, providing high quality learning that inspires and motivates students. We encourage CPD to improve pedagogy amongst staff and like to share best practice. Staff are encouraged to discuss subject and teaching both informally and in departmental meetings. You will be well-supported by a team of teachers along with senior and middle leaders as you work to raise attainment levels and offer an engaging ‘student first’ curriculum experience.
The successful candidate should have a passion for English teaching and also for the wider importance of literacy across the Academy to develop a love of the subject with students.
What we are looking for
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent practice, whilst simultaneously driving forward continuous improvement in student outcomes at all levels. Applicants will have high aspirations and should be able to reinforce numeracy skills, academy-wide, providing a positive impact on student attainment and progress.
As well as excellent communication skills, you must have high expectations of students. You will consistently model excellent practice and have student achievement and progress at the forefront of your practice.
