Further Information
This is Redcar and Cleveland. We are an ambitious council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

This is an exciting time in Redcar & Cleveland where we are pleased to be part of the
No Wrong Door – Strengthening Families Protecting Children programme; a pioneering way of providing support to young people who are in our care, or on the edge of care.

No Wrong Door, devised by North Yorkshire County Council has already radically improved the life chances of troubled young people elsewhere, many of whom experienced long-term neglect and trauma throughout their childhoods and were likely to have needed to be taken into the care of the local authority without this intervention.
We are immensely proud that No Wrong Door is now coming to Redcar and Cleveland after our successful bid to the Department for Education to enable us to work with North Yorkshire to adopt the model locally.

We are now recruiting to the position of Part-time Business Support Officer to provide a confidential, comprehensive and professional administrative support service to the Hub.

The successful applicant will be well motivated, conscientious, flexible and well-organised with excellent communication skills. You must have good ICT and literacy skills and be able to prioritise your own workload, be conscientious and accurate, with eye for detail.
You will undertake a range of administration tasks with a particular focus on recording case notes and minuting multi-agency case meetings for some of our most vulnerable young people.

You will have the ability to work unsupervised and be flexible in your approach, being able to work using your own initiative as a well as effectively in a team.
You will be dealing with difficult and sensitive information so must respect the need for confidentiality of personal information and have knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection, Equalities and Health and Safety requirements of working in an office and residential environment.

You will be based at the children's residential Hub on the outskirts of Redcar, in a beautifully refurbished children’s home that offers outstanding facilities for the multi-agency team who will be based there to support some of our most vulnerable young people.

For further information about the role please contact Fran Golightly, Service Improvement & Capital Projects Officer on 01642 837709

The council holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.
